Galilee GW boundary and initial conditions

Abstract

The dataset was derived by the Bioregional Assessment Programme. The source dataset is identified in the Lineage field in this metadata statement.

The processes undertaken to produce this derived dataset are described in the History field in this metadata statement.

The boundary and initial conditions of the GAL AEM, such as the Belyando River, the extent of the alluvium or Betts Creek bed formation and the mine footprints, are generated as part of dataset GAL_AEM_models as csv-files. This dataset uses the information in these csv-files for visualisation.

Dataset History

Dataset GAL_AEM models describes how the boundary and initial conditions are generated from their respective source dataset, mostly by coarsely digitising by hand in ArcGIS 10.2. This data sets takes the geographical information contained in these spreadsheets (i.e. the coordinates of polyline or polygon vertices) for visualisation in maps, contained in GAL262 (Peeters et al. 2016).

These files include:

GAL_Alluvium_Line.csv: Polyline representing the center line of the alluvial deposits

GAL_BCB.csv: Polyline representing the eastern extent of the Betts Creek Bed formation

GAL_mine_footprints.csv: Polygons representing the mine footprints in the groundwater model

GAL_river.csv: Polyline representing the Belyando River in the groundwater model
